Great Lakes Center for the Arts
A wayfinding and donor recognition signage system that performs as beautifully as the space it serves.

From the featured donor wall to hard-working backstage signage, sparq equipped the brand new state-of-the-art Great Lakes Center for the Arts building and grounds, which opened July 2018 in Bay Harbor, Michigan, with a comprehensive signage system — taking cues from the Center’s architectural elements, the local charm of Northern Michigan and its people, the region’s natural characteristics plus the identity’s geometric representation of the five Great Lakes.
Undulating waves, triangles and circles along with materials echoing tumbled beach glass and aged copper, come alive in a symphony of signage that simultaneously informs guests and complements this creative and engaging place. From the exterior approach and parking lot sign system to the named interior spaces, our designs do their job with a wink and nod to the Center’s generous supporters, our clients — the talented executives, house staff and crew, the artists and amazing performances.
